New Funds for GO
COINED, the main sponsoring organization of Oportunidad Educativa in Argentina has decided to no longer fund the local program economically. They will continue supporting the local project by borrowing their facilities for weekend activities, organization resources and anything else they can help with. This determination was made by the COINED director, reassuring us that he has been very pleased with our program.
It has been a sudden change and for the local project and it means we at GO Give an Opportunity need to work double to make sure we can fund the ENTIRE project ourselves.
Two Scholars are Best of their Class
Daniel López y Celeste Nícolas have been selected by their school to carry the school flag during the first 2011 semester. This is a great honor for us and confirms that we have selected scholars who want to make a difference. Students that want to make a change in their lives and they are already showing it!! Neither Daniel nor Celeste have a sponsor. If you can recommend a sponsor for us to contact, please let us know at info@giveanopportunity.org
Seven Scholars will Graduate High School this year 2011
This is a crucial year for the seven scholars who are graduating high school. This is the year where MOST of the students their age abandon school and decide to NOT go to University. Because of that, we make sure we make them attend career fairs, they already start deciding what they would like to do educationally after high school and else.
Sponsors who have students in their last year of high school: a good idea is to write them about your experience with university, what you think the importance of education at university is, ask them what they would like to study.

In this section we want to introduce you the students of the program "Give an Opportunity" who need a sponsor. You will get to know everything about them: the activities they do, their future aspirations, their biography, etc.

There are a number of ways you can easily share the idea that simple actions can help the world's poorest, especially students, improve their lives and escape poverty through access to education. By telling others about our work, you can raise awareness and do your part to fight poverty.
