Activities in Cordoba
The scholars took a their winter break in June and are starting the second semester with lots of energy! Activities they have already accomplished:
1) Make your own mask workshop. A volunteer taught the class during three different weekends. Scholars learned how to work with their hands, sculpt wood, paint and get creative. This training not only helped them to learn new manual skills but also was seen by the scholars as a possible job option. The scholars were thrilled with this workshop, as their creativity and ingenuity created very original crafts.
2) Stop Motion Animation workshop. Scholars participated in the video workshop to learn the technique of stop motion animation, this technique is about making static objects move through a series of successive still images. It is generally known as stop motion animation to not fall into the category of cartoon or computer animation, this means that were not drawn or painted, but were created by taking images of reality.
The scholars created plasticine figure animations telling a story and some of them were photographed for an animation. The workshop was lead by Agostina Lauria, a volunteer, and scholars enthusiastically participated in this activity and enjoyed a good time.
3) Ceremony Protocol workshop. The idea of this activity is that the scholars learn the importance of image and communication when relating to others in the workplace. They work different topics such as: public speaking, and function in a job interview, appropriate attire for each presentation, etiquette and etiquette, among others.
Fundraising Activities in Cordoba
A new local Cordoba committee was developed to further organize fundraising activities in Cordoba and the province of Cordoba. So far Cordoba has organized its own art Auction and participated in a Father son tennis match where funds were donated to GO. There will be more to come.
New Volunteer in Holland
We are happy to announce that Lianne la Roi, a 23 year old student from the Netherlands, is joining the GO- Give an Opportunity team as a volunteer!
Lianne will translate the GO website into Dutch, which makes us able to spread the word even better in the Netherlands. On behalf of GO we want to welcome you and wish you all the best with the translation job!

We still dont have enough sponsors to be able to support our program. We have had to cut down on the material benefits we give our scholars because we dont have enough funds.
