Activities in Cordoba
Activities done, saying goodbye to 2011! 
1) This was a very hard month since all scholars had finals in school and had to make sure they passed all their classes.  They all did a great job and we have two news:

 1.1) Gabriel who had slacked a bit at the end of the school year got back on track and passed his math final exam with a 95.
 1.2) Damaris, one of our most responsible scholars who graduated from 6th year, was selected "abanderada" from her school.  This means she is the best student in her entire school.  Its a great accomplishment for her and it encourages her to continue studying hard!

2)  The Project Director in Argentina, Maria Laura Appolloni was interviewed on the local TV station "Canal C" through the program "Cordoba C Ve" to talk about what we do, the scholars, and our new relationship with KLM and Get it Done.  Pictures of the interview are on our Cordoba Facebook Page

Activities in the US
Winning KLM's Support
GO Give an Opportunity is one of the Get it Done projects.  Get it Done is a volunteer organization in the Netherlands who helps promotes social organizations around the world.  Through Get it Done, the Dutch airline, KLM, picked three candidate organizations to win their support.  There was a poll published for one week that included an organization in Ghana, India and us in Argentina.

After much campaigning, GO Give an Opportunity received 61% of the total votes and thus, was selected to receive KLM's support!  Thanks everyone who supported us and voted for us.

Launching the Netherlands
GO Give an Opportunity has had such a great response from volunteers and donors in the Netherlands, that we just had to have presence.  We have launched our dutch website www.giveanopportunity.nl and Rob Vis, our volunteer marketing director, is managing operations there.  His email if you would like to get involved rvis @ giveanopportunity.org

Advisory Board
GO Give an Opportunity is in search of an advisory board.  To nominate candidates for the board, please send us your recommendations to info @ giveanopportunity.org .  If you would like to be part of our advisory team, please also let us know.


Students without a Sponsor:  See how they need you!
We still dont have enough sponsors to be able to support our program.  We have had to cut down on the material benefits we give our scholars because we dont have enough funds.  If you know someone that would like to make a difference and get involved, please let me know at cmarianacci@giveanopportunity.org
