Activities in Cordoba
December and January were "different" months in Cordoba since all scholars graduated high school. This is a great accomplishment for them and since non failed any classes they have the summer off. The project in Cordoba also does less activities with the scholars to respect free time with families and encourage "free time/educational" activities among the family. A follow up is done to each scholar to make sure they don't get into trouble or have any emergencies.
Daniel, one of the scholars, started his first semester of university and was very anxious to do so. He is loving it so far... Our hardest challenge now is to keep him motivated.
Maxi, one of the oldest scholars who is in 4 year of law school, has signed up to help the project director run the activities. He will be getting more responsibilities within the program and will be volunteering a few hours per week.
Activities in the US & Holland
Get it Done Fundraiser
We continue to receive support from Get it Done, our most beloved organization in Holland. During January they hosted “BACK TO THE ROARING TWENTIES...” Fundraising event. They invited a few of the Greatest Artists of our Time: Wende Snyders, Dio, Rina Mushonga to name a few, and they auctioned items signed by them. Karaoke was available, including drinks and bites. Our volunteer Rob Vis attended.
Givology makes its first Donation to GO
It was a joy to hear that one of our scholars, Flavia Tissera, was fully funded by Givology and the Givology donors, during the next year. Flavia has gone through ups and down during the beginning of last year but has gotten back on track. We are glad to continue having her as a scholar!

We still dont have enough sponsors to be able to support our program. We have had to cut down on the material benefits we give our scholars because we dont have enough funds. If you know someone that would like to make a difference and get involved, please let me know at cmarianacci@giveanopportunity.org
