What the Sponsorship Includes
The scholarship program at we support, provides the scholars with a favorable surrounding to be able to complete their studies and become even better people.
Through the scholarship students will receive:
* books
* school supplies
* books needed for school
* uniforms
* everyday clothes
* transportation from home to the school
* groceries every 2 weeks
* academic help
* personal follow up with each student
* educational outings
* educational recreational activities
* medical assistance in all the areas, yearly check ups
All this support is executed by different areas
We not only focus on the economical support for the children but also provide mentors for the students through tutors and other volunteers. Every Saturday they organize a breakfast in which all students participate. They read the newspaper and discuss different topics that appear. They also talk about what they did last week to strengthen the connection between the scholars and the volunteers as well as the connection between the scholars themselves. After that the volunteers give English and Computer courses. They also give extra help to those who need it in any specified school subject. They also carry out other recreational activities like watching films or just hanging out together.
The voluntary work is important to the scholars because they get to learn new points of view through activities, experiences and important moments in their lives that they share with the volunteers. They feel that there is someone who cares about them and their futures which has a motivating effect. Furthermore some of our volunteers come from different countries so the kids learn about foreign cultures, ways of living, points of view, and to be tolerant towards others. This broadens their horizons in a way they would never experience otherwise.
The minimum needed to help a kid is $15 per month.
- Sponsor a child for $15 per month and you will help buy the school supplies for a child
- Sponsor a child for $20 per month and you help pay for the child's transportation to/from school and some school supplies
- Sponsor a child for $35 per month and you help pay for the child's transportation to/from school and all school supplies
- Sponsor a child for $40 per month and you help pay for a child's transportation to/from school, buy all the school supplies and a reference book to study from.
- With $65 you will help sponsor a child completely. This will cover a child's transportation to/from school, buy all the school supplies and a reference book to study from, application to the local school, clothes, extra curricular activities costs, tutoring costs, healthcare costs, and follow up person costs.
The minimum time to Give an Opportunity is 3 months.
