What we do?
The goal of GO - Give an Opportunity is to promote local education among students of high academic performance and low economical resources. We want to be able to provide those children who show good standing, the possibility to access the proper education avoiding any of the common obstacles brought by the lack of money and food in the families. At the same time we want to further educate these children with the proper values, customs, responsibilities and teach them to have their own personal goal in life. We want to provide children with all the tools needed to be successful and come out of poverty.
Our mission is "to promote the education and active participation of teens that have fewer opportunities and through the students develop sustainable changes in the community". The scholars will get to know each other during the first day of activities. In the first activity one student throws a ball of wool to another and the recipient answers a question about them self. In this way a network of relationship and friendship is born. The Give an Opportunity Program was created in order to accompany and to help the students that show a strong interest in education. The beneficiaries are students that stand out in the academic area, have no disciplinary issues but have a high risk of dropping out of school due to scarce economic resources.
The goal is to create a favorable environment so that the student does not feel obliged to abandon his studies and he will have the necessary tools to reach his vocational training. Our program seeks to promote values such as responsibility, effort, inter-cultural communication and the active participation of the youths, so that they can later develop sustainable changes in the community.
